We will be using the climbing wall periodically throughout the year. I will announce in advance whether or not we will be using the climbing wall in PE class. The rules for using the climbing wall are:

1. Only current Wood Creek students may use the climbing wall.
2. No one is allowed to use the climbing wall without trained supervision.
3. No one is allowed to use the climbing wall unless the mats are in position.
4. Students must be prepared for Physical Education class.
5. Students must remove all jewelry, except for stud earrings.
6. Students must keep their feet below the red safety line.
7. Students must climb on and climb off the climbing wall. (No jumping off.)

Remember that your child must be prepared for Physical Education class to climb on the climbing wall and the only jewelry they are allowed to wear are stud earrings.

The climbing wall at Wood Creek Elementary is much like the climbing wall pictured above. It is a Traverse Climbing Wall, which means the students traverse, or climb horizontally. As you can see in the picture, there is a red line that travels the length of the climbing wall. The child's feet must stay below the red line, keeping him/her close to the floor. In the picture you will notice that there are red mats attached to the climbing wall. These mats are laid down for safe climbing each time the climbing wall is used.
